Rocful Dodger
So back when urban/street/whatevr clothing started getting its boom, in like 04-05, eryone was getting into Bathing Ape and moving away from Sean John, Akademiks, things like that, I really got into Artful Dodger and proclaimed that it was gon be my new brand.
Ok, so i only got one shirt (which i wore like twice then subsequently lost), but they did have some aite clothing (the Rose and Dagger Polo was tight, so was a couple of their hoodies).
Well apparently, Jay-Z just bought the company... here's some more info:
In related news, Jay-Z continues to make waves in the fashion industry, as the mogul announced that he has formed a new company Scion LLC, a joint venture between Jay-Z and Iconix, the company that purchased Rocawear for $204 million in cash. Jay-Z acquired the Art Dodger clothing brand for $15 million dollars in cash.
Artful Dodger is a high end apparel brand sold in boutiques and specialty stores in the United States and the United Kingdom. The clothing brand is named for the 19th Century Artful Dodger , who led a group of young men in mischief throughout the UK. Scion LLC has licensed the Artful Dodger brand to Signature Apparel Group to create Artful Dodger men’s and women’s sportswear.
Artful Dodger founder Scott Langton will stay on as creative director for the brand. "Artful Dodger is an incredible brand with a lot of room for growth and Scott Langton is a visionary designer," Jay-Z said. "They represent what's next and new in fashion and we are glad to have both the brand and Scott as a part of our family. Artful Dodger represents the first of many acquisitions that will begin to shape our joint venture with Iconix."
