Touch. my ass.

So.. back when the IPod Video came out, i swear I had this idea for an ipod that was all screen (with a touch screen interface, and touch screen clickwheel). That was back in early 2005. I've been wantin to upgrade my mp3 player (Borat saying the ipod mini was for girls was kinda the last straw) and couldn't WAIT for the latest ipod.
So i was on engadget readin about Apple's presentation when they showed the new Ipod. above..
but there are a couple things that jus... make me think, man, ima never get a new ipod.. so here's my short list of reasons why i dont think ill be dropping $400+ for it come next week or so..
1.) well, its $400.
- OK, so i paid $200 for 4GB on the mini back in '04 or whever, but you really expect me to pay $400 for 16GB? there's a lot of things that you can buy for $400. including any music or movies that i would want to put on the freakin ipod in the first place. shoes, clothes, stuff for my car, stuff for my computer, seriously ALOT of other things. $400 for 16GB??? seriously? for movies and video? I borrowed my mom's 30GB ipod video for a long trip the other day, and while i didn't fill it up (there's really no point when i knew i wouldnt wanna listen to all the songs i had anyways, and within 2 weeks, i'd just be returning it) i put a good 20GB on there of songs that i REALLY wanted to listen to. not including videos, when a movie will run like 2GB or something itself.
2.) 16GB? for real?
- ok, so i kinda ran into the whole memory thing in 1.) ,so moving on..
3.) if i wanted an iphone, i woulda bought an iphone
- ok, i get it, its a phoneless iphone. so basically for $400, i can buy a 8GB iphone, WITH bluetooth, working calenders, working screens, oh, and phone capability. yea, its cool that i can get youtube videos, wifi, notes, blah blah blah on the ipod touch, but im not buyin a damn iphone, or an imac or whatver. gimme something that plays music, video, has a lot of memory for puttin the songs and video i DECIDE to, is relatively small and lightweight, and im happy.
4.) jackin an engadget question, where's the standard ipod white color?
- back in the day, i was siced that they made a black one, cuz it looked sleeker. but the ipod was the device that really made white look sleek and tight on a product, look at the original ipod, the wii, and other things, so how come the new version does come in the color it made famous?
5.) dont be too different.
- goin back to my original idea, a touchscreen click wheel. why take that away? why does have to have the SAME OS as the iphone? throw some familiarity back in it. would that have really been so bad? the screens gonna get finger prints on it regardless cuz its touchscreen, but still.
jus a couple reasons amongst many that i dont think ima be gettin this..
until the 2G touch comes out. so until then...

you still my soldier.
